It’s time to say goodbye...
After nearly 10 years in business, the Elora General Store is closing its doors. Owners Rhoda Lipton and Barb Lee have had an amazing experience but now it’s time to say goodbye.
We have loved providing a retail experience in this community. We have been engaged in so many ways in our community through our active support and involvement with the arts and not for profit groups and we have loved every minute of it. We live in a fabulous community and we have been lucky to share in its depth and caring.
Alas, common sense and bottom lines drive decisions where hearts alone would seek a different path.
We thank our wonderful staff for their hard work and customer service. We especially thank Linda Scott, who has been with us since the early days, for her care and commitment to our customers and our store.
Most importantly, to our customers we say thank you for being loyal to us! Without our local shoppers, no business can feel successful. Many of you became good friends as well as customers, and we are grateful for that.
Our vision of the Elora General Store would not have shone so brightly without the graphic design talents of Marilyn Koop and our store would not have been so rich in product without the support of our suppliers and the talents of our local makers and creators.
Thanks to our B.I.A., the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce and the Township of Centre Wellington for their commitment to business in our community. We tip our hats, too, to the Fergus Elora News Express, the Wellington Advertiser and our local Cogeco Cable TV for their coverage of retail businesses in Centre Wellington and of their great coverage of local events.
So now, come down and celebrate the end of this era with us. We’re having a “So long Sale” to make room for whatever the future will hold. Please join us through to the end of June, for great buys and goodbyes.
